Lear Automotive (EEDS) Spain S.L is part of the Lear Electrical & Electronic Division an its core business is the design, production and selling of Electrical and Electronic Distribution Systems (EEDS) for the automotive sector (see more details at www.lear.com).
The company product portfolio includes among others: wire, junction boxes, terminals & connectors, electronic devices, switches, etc. and is supplying the major car manufacturers and OEM's through a worldwide basis. The company workforce is more than 3,000 people located in the different Spanish plants (Avila, Roquetes and Valls).
The European Technological Center (ETC) of the company is located in Valls, where it is placed the Advanced Projects and the Applied Research Departments that will be the co-ordinator of this project inside the company. Examples of projects developed at these departments are mechatronics, 42V car architectures, ASIC/ASSP application, Flat flexible Cable, Design for Integration, Design for Environment, etc.
The ETC includes also the Laboratory Department that has the mission of testing products and technologies and support the projects from Advanced Technology, Applied Research, Product Engineering, Production Plants and Customer Service Center in all their testing requirements. The Laboratory equipment consists on climatic chambers, vibration chambers, etc.
The division is certified with the following Quality Standards: QS 9000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and TS 16949.
